At one point during their family photo session, I complimented their youngest daughter on her princess dress, and she promptly responded, “Princesses don’t have to wear dresses.” And even though her answer caught me off guard, I remember thinking — she is so right, and kudos to these parents for teaching their girls that success is not dependent on looks or clothes. That instead, success is based on solid role models and respect and hard work. And it couldn’t have been more appropriate timing, because the purpose of their family session was to celebrate just that — respect and hard work displayed by two incredible role models. We created these images in honor of the parents’ graduation and ten years of marriage (wow!). But even more than those two huge occasions, our evening together was a celebration of their two daughters and the life they have built together as a family of four. It was an honor to spend an evening with them.
