“A home is more than just where you live; it reflects who you are.” – Ty Pennington
I just love that quote, and this family perfectly embodies those words! Their home is warm, personal, colorful, and creative, just like they are. I couldn’t take more than a few steps without finding another unique touch to include in their images. To start, there was the wallpaper tree that this baby’s mom & grandma created by hand for her nursery. Then there was the handmade Rothko, which they affectionately call “Rothfaux.” Then there was the gallery wall filled with images from their travels. And THEN, a rainbow rug too?!?! Can it get any cooler than that?
As a special coincidence, their session took place on the day of their 7th wedding anniversary. The symbolism of creating their first family portraits on the day that they officially began their lives together did not escape me! I loved that even though the baby is the center of their universe now, I could still see their strong partnership. It showed in the way he wrapped up his girls in the biggest hugs, and the way they split up tasks like they’ve been a team forever. This baby girl is lucky to have been born into one of the coolest families I’ve ever met, and it was a joy to peek into their world for an afternoon.
