During my brief visit to Ann Arbor over winter break, I had the chance to meet a fellow flutist from Amy Porter’s studio at the University of Michigan. Alex and I met up for a quick session in the beautiful Walgreen Drama Center on campus. I love how modern buildings utilize windows, patterns, and colors– they make my job easy (and Alex’s modeling didn’t hurt either!) I love how we flutists always have something in common whether we’ve known each other for five years or five minutes, and I had a great time getting to chat with her for an afternoon.
