Kate L Photography Turns 10!

Well….just like that, and Kate L Photography is already 10 years old. TEN!! Where has the time gone?!

Last month, it hit me that May 20th (KLP’s actual business anniversary) was just around the corner, so I decided to plan a little last-minute event to celebrate the amazing clients that have grown alongside this small business. I thought it would be fun to host a little cupcake picnic in the park to celebrate!

I sent out a newsletter invitation just one week beforehand, and amazingly, 42 parents & kiddos showed up on a weekday at rush hour (the only time I had available to host this). What?! I mean, I loved them already, but it was so special to be able to hug everyone in person and see how much their babies have grown!!

We ended up with the most beautiful spring weather, and I was crazy happy running around the field and photographing every family that came out! Sadly, I was so focused on each individual family’s photo that I forgot to take any snapshots of everyone just hanging out as a group. But I do remember looking up for a split second and seeing all the families playing together in the sunshine, and my heart grew about 20 sizes. I’m beyond grateful for every single family who has supported this little dream of mine, and I’m glad I could give back a little with this event.

If you weren’t able to make it out to the picnic, don’t worry — I have something planned that every single KLP client can participate in, no matter where you live! Stay tuned for details in tomorrow’s newsletter (sign up here if you’re not on it yet!). šŸ™‚

Here’s one dozen out of the FOUR DOZEN Georgetown Cupcakes that I brought for everyone (it’s always been my dream to bulk-buy Georgetown…LOL!). These cupcakes are my absolute favorite, and it’s no surprise that they disappeared pretty quickly! šŸ˜‰

Finally, here are a couple of cell phone snapshots of two gifts that the kiddos brought me! On the left is a handmade card that shows the last family photo session we did together (those are fall trees!). And on the right is a little party hat that couldn’t have been more perfect! I wore it for the last part of the party! šŸ™‚
