for the first time | boston newborn photographer

I have never experienced what it’s like to have my own newborn baby. But I definitely get a tiny glimpse of what it must like to be a parent when I look through a client’s newborn photo session for the first time. Even if it’s only been a few hours since the photos were taken, I’m always taken aback when I view the images we created. Because even when you have held that tiny person in your hands, the amazing sense of peace tends to escape faster than you’d like it to. And photography brings you straight back to that feeling in a very powerful way.

My hope for this new mom & dad is that these images will forever allow them to re-experience what it felt like to navigate parenthood for the first time (because sleep deprivation has a way of erasing those memories!). How life was chaotic and still; tiny in size but still monumental. How the briefest moments could stop time…the tiny curl of his finger around theirs, his fight to stay awake before eventually succumbing to sleep, the reflexive smile that eventually grew into a real one. All of those moments are so precious, and it’s an honor to be able to document them for my clients.
