why I’ve disappeared | rochester headshot photographer

It’s not often that I’m absent from photographing/blogging for such a long amount of time, but September has been quite a packed month for me. October 1st marked my senior degree recital at Eastman, which involved an incredible amount of planning and dedication. At times I felt like I was planning a wedding…creating invitations, arranging plane tickets, picking a dress, and all of that good stuff! After resuming “normal life” on Monday, I felt so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to share music with my family, friends, and mentors. So often I witness other people’s support circles when I photograph families and friends together, but it was good to be reminded of the wonderful people in my own life. Thank you so much to everyone who came…it really was one of the best weekends of my life.

One of my favorite things about the weekend was being joined by my high school flute teacher Tal Perkes. He has been one of the most influential people in my musical journey, and I wouldn’t be at Eastman if it weren’t for his guidance.

A couple of pictures from the recital, taken by my friend Lauren:

And finally, a couple of quick pictures from this weekend. It’s been great to have time to breathe, enjoy being with friends, and stay healthy.

After September’s photography hiatus, I’m back to work in full swing! Many, many pictures to share from this week, including my classmates’ senior yearbook photos. New posts coming very soon.
