At your session, we’re not just making photos; we’re making memories. If that means buying your kids ice cream and getting a little messy in the process, then I say let’s do it! If that involves taking your headshots on a playground, I think that’s fabulous. “Having your portrait taken” does not mean “Kate sticks a camera in your face and tells you to smile.” Portraits are about building a relationship, even in the short span of an hour. I want to earn your smiles, not demand them. I want to get to know you and your family and find out what rocks your world. We’ll talk to each other, snap some pictures, and talk some more. By the time I’m done with a photo session, I head home with a brand new friend.
No matter whether I’m photographing a toddler or an adult, we’re going to have an adventure. We’re going to move so fast that you won’t have time to worry about how you look. All I want you to be is happy, and that happiness will shine out of your face until you’re more beautiful than you ever thought you could be.
