A Not-So-Newborn Session | Beacon Hill Baby Photographer

I hardly ever photograph two-month-old babies. It’s not that I don’t love them — all babies are wonderful in my eyes no matter what their age! However, most often parents come to see me for newborn and six-month photos, so I don’t usually get to see babies in the middle of those milestones.

My session with this little guy made me realize how much I’ve been missing in those months in between! His wide-eyed stare and baby folds completely melted me. He stayed with us almost until the very end, when he lost the battle to keep his eyelids open and finally succumbed to sleep. His grandma, who was visiting from out of town, was completely content to stare at him awake or asleep, and the images featuring the two of them together particularly speak to me.

Also, I need to go off on a tangent here for a second to mention how much this mama ROCKED the job of choosing their outfits. I’ve recently revamped the welcome guide that I sent to families before their session, and she followed every new tip to a T. I was such a fan of how she chose two main colors, then mixed and matched textures within that scheme. This family looks like they belong in a catalogue. Just sayin’!

S & P, thank you so much for inviting me to document your new little family. It was an honor to spend an evening with you!
